June 2019: we read that CO2 levels in the atmosphere set a new record. And the increase has set a new record, an accelerating pace of increase. See how CO2 just hit an all-time record. But that’s not the worst of it.
“It’s extremely alarming to see atmospheric CO2 continuing to increase relentlessly year after year when all scenarios that lead to a stable climate require that it go down,” said Sarah Green, an environmental chemist at Michigan Technological University.
This is only one. Do a web search of “climate change news” and it yields tens of articles in the last few hours alone.
Honestly, I know fretting is not action. I chose to sit on my hands and accept that I am too small as an individual to make it happen. For years I have accepted the information that we are grinding the earth into demise and destruction. And fretted about it.
It is the time for action.
I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take it anymore.
I need to take action. What can I hope to achieve?
- Take more personal action to reduce my personal / family contribution to these risks
- Increase awareness among my direct network
- Enlist and enrol my readers to do as much as they can
- Catalyze a grass roots revolt to press corporations and governments into significant action
- With and through others we can impact global change
